Trends in New Qualifications and Competencies for TVET - Perspectives of the European UNEVOC Network

Nine trends provide insights and foundation for shaping TVET for the future

The BILT project has just launched a new Trends Mapping Study on new qualifications and competencies in TVET. With a focus on perspectives of the European UNEVOC Network, the study identifies nine trends related to the identification, integration and implementation of new qualifications and competencies in TVET. These trends provide valuable input for the further development of national and institutional activities to keep TVET systems fit for the future and responsive to the demands of the labour market.

As a result, trends one to four bring insights into the identification of new qualifications and competencies for relevant sectors and occupations; trends five and six concern the integration of new qualifications and competencies in curricula and training regulations of different occupational profiles; and, finally, trends seven to nine bear upon their implementation in teaching and training.

Linked to the launch of this publication, we are announcing a Bridging Conference organized by the BILT project on 8 December 2020. The conference will refer to the trends identified in the study and link them with practical examples from the TVET community.
