Youth Employment in the Mediterranean Knowledge Platform
UNESCO-UNEVOC has launched the Youth Employment in the Mediterranean (YEM) Knowledge Platform. This Platform is one of the key components of UNESCO’s European Union funded YEM Project that supports 8 countries in the region in developing robust skills development systems to promote youth employment across four key thematic areas. Every year on July 15, UNESCO-UNEVOC joins global celebrations to mark World Youth Skills Day and spread awareness about the importance of youth skills development. Designated by the United Nations General Assembly, the day is an opportunity to highlight the achievements of young people who have benefitted from skills training and call for increased access to quality training and skills development for youth around the globe. Winners of the Skills in Action Photo Competition 2019
UNESCO-UNEVOC invited photographers from around the world to capture unique moments highlighting Skills in Action. The more than 350 submissions focused on how TVET is empowering young people in their communities according to three thematic priority areas.

2019 UNEVOC TVET Leadership Programme
The 2019 UNEVOC TVET Leadership Programme was launched on June 24 at the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre in Bonn, Germany. Now in its fourth year, the Programme brings together 24 mid- to senior-level TVET leaders from UNEVOC Centres and other institutions around the world in a highly engaging environment over the course of two weeks. Guided self-assessment workshop held in Malta
UNESCO-UNEVOC kicked off its first workshop aimed at pilot testing the Skills for Innovation Hubs ( i-hubs) framework. This framework was developed to assess the current state of innovation in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions and draw ideas for future development. (more)
