The IST-D has the following mission

- « Création et renforcement des parcours du Domaine sciences et technologies » avec l’Université Nice-Côte d’Azur et l’AUF (en cours, jusqu’à fin 2017)
- « Licence professionnelle en Eau – Océan Indien » avec les universités de Limoges (France), de La Réunion et des Mascareignes (Maurice) (en phase de conception)

During those last two years, IST-D took part to the following projects:
- Development of ICT competences for trainers, together with the UNEVOC centre in INFor and UNEVOC (closed in December 2015)
- Creating and reinforcing the paths in the field of Sciences and Technology, together with the Université Nice-cote d’Azur and the AUF (on-going, until end 2017)
- "vocational bachelor in Water- Indian Ocean" together with the universities of Limoge (France), of La Réunion and of Mascareignes (Mauritius) - in development

As part of UNESCO-UNEVOC's efforts to strengthen the engagement of European UNEVOC Centres in Europe, a European UNEVOC Network Consolidation Workshop was held at the UN Campus in Bonn. This workshop aimed at strengthening cooperation and policy learning in TVET within Europe, and facilitating their future cross-regional collaborations with UNEVOC Centres in Africa and Asia. (more
22 September 2017Kenya celebrates skills
how, held on 27th and 28th January, 2017 was the first-ever skills and career event in Kenya. Attended by approximately 3,000 youth and parents, the Skills Show featured “hands-on” exhibits which exposed youth to the numerous career choices and training opportunities available in TVET sector. The show encouraged students on the importance of gaining necessary skills to increase their employability. It has been preceded by a conference that gathered 740 participants during two days.
15 September 2017Improving TVET in Kenya through Life Skills
The Kenyan Government is integrating life skills into Technical Vocation Education Training (TVET) to ensure technical students are well equipped with skills needed in the labour market.
Combination of technical and employability skills makes TVET graduates competitive. This can only be achieved by looking at the current skills mismatch in the work place and coming up with programs and solution to fill the gaps. (more
