Competency Assurance Management System for Enterprises and TVET Institutions

In different Companies and Technical and Vocational Education and Training TVET Institutions (Institutes, Centres and Schools), due attention is given to the performance of the workers / trainees / students by applying both Competency Based Education and Training System CBET as well as Competency Based Workers / Trainees / Students Assessment and Verification Assurance Quality Management System; known simply as Competency Assurance Management System CAMS. These two systems are applied by the management of Companies and TVET Institutions with a view to have reasonable assurance of meeting their business objectives by assuring that their workers / trainees / students are well trained, assessed, verified and competent.

The corporate management of a Company or TVET Institution has to clearly state the mission of their Competency Assurance Management System CAMS and which is generally derived from the following Mission Statement:

The purpose of the Competency Assurance Management System CAMS is to provide guidelines that will enable the management of Companies and TVET Institutions to set valid and reliable controls in place with a view to have reasonable assurance that their workers / trainees / students are well trained, acquired the required awareness, knowledge, skills and attitudes, provided evidences, assessed, verified, proved to be competent and can effectively perform all tasks assigned to them, including Health Safety and Environmental Protection HSEP and Business Critical Tasks, up to the Minimum Competency Level (Standard) required at Work Location.

As highly specialized in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training TVET, I have developed and currently addressing a course on “Competency Assurance Management System for Enterprises and TVET Institutions”.

Course Objectives

The course is designed to help the participants to:

1. Understand Competency (Competence), Competency Management and its benefits

2. Define Technical and Vocational Education and Training TVET and TVET Institutions

3. Understand the Mission and Corporate Policy of the Competency Assurance Management System CAMS

4. Explain the Personal Development Plan PDP, its Summary and Action Plan

5. Design and Implement the Competency Development Framework CDF as a vital reference for competencies, levels / standards of competency rating criteria and evidences supporting the assessments

6. Understand in detail the Minimum Assessment & Verification Standard Processes, Quality Assurance / Quality Control QA / QC of Assessment & Verification Processes, Levels of Assessment, Planning and Implementing of Assessment & Verification, Element Assessment Tables, Assessment & Verification Interviews, Formal / Informal Assessment, Internal / External Verification, System Verification and Committee Interview Verification and Interview Methodology

7. Define the Glossary of Terms for Assessment & Verification


Course Outcomes:

At the end of this course, the participants including Competency Assurance Coordinators, Assessors and Verifiers will be competent and able to Manage Competency and utilize the Competency Assurance Management System CAMS to assess and verify Workers / Trainees / Students in different Enterprises / Companies / Organizations / TVET Institutes, Centres and Schools .
