Del 20 al 22 de mayo de 2014, el Centro Internacional UNESCO-UNEVOC organizó en Gaborone/Botsuana, en cooperación con el Instituto Nacional de las Cualificaciones de Botsuana (Botswana Qualifications Authority, BQA), una conferencia sobre transiciones juveniles y consolidación de la Red. La conferencia generó una plataforma de conocimientos regionales e internacionales sobre las transiciones escuela-trabajo y los desafíos regionales para los sectores formal e informal y, en concreto, asumió los objetivos siguientes:
La conferencia se organizó en seguimiento del foro regional de Abuya/Nigeria en 2013 para responder a los retos que plantean en la región africana el empleo juvenil e informal, la transición escuela-trabajo y la coordinación de protagonistas en el sector de la EFTP.
