The Ministry is responsible for the development and implementation of state policy in education including initial vocational education and training (VET). VET is under the responsibility of VET department which consists of two directions -- VET planning and assessment, and VET management. The National Observatory of the Republic of Moldova, which was organised with the support of the European Training Foundation, is responsible for the collection and analysis of information related to VET and labour markets and provides the link between the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family.
