The Directorate General of Technical and Vocational Education is one of the Directorate Generals of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Lebanon. The Directorate Generale provides technical and vocational education to the students through a network of technical institutes and schools covering the entire territory of Lebanon. The Directorate General supervises as well all the private institutions providing TVET. At the end of each scholar year, the Directorate General organizes the public examinations and delivers official diplomas such as the Technical Baccalaureate, the dual system secondary education diploma, the Higher Technician Diploma and the Technical Licence (5 years of studies following the secondary education level). The Directorate General develops new curricula, creates new specialties and performs its duties in collaboration with the other ministries and with the representatives of the labor market.
The Higher Industrial Technical Institute is a public Institute rising of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education-Directorate General of Technical and Vocational Education-LEBANON.
The Institute prepares the higher technician diploma (2 years of education after the technical baccalaureate or the general baccalaureate) in order to obtain the technical License during one year of studies.
The goal of the HITI is to train students who can achieve their ambitions through the free choice of their future career by providing them with a high technical level of teaching in industrial, artistic and paramedical specialties.
In response to labor market needs and requirements of development, curricula have been designed to develop the spirit of technological innovation and globalization criteria. Thus, teaching and training meet and comply with the standards of production and work while respecting the quality, safety, environmental protection and competitive cost.
