Established by the Government of Barbados, it is a statutory body responsible for the planning and coordinating of Technical and Vocational Education in Barbados. It undertakes the following activities:
- Established by the Government of Barbados, it is a statutory body responsible for the planning and coordinating of Technical and Vocational Education in Barbados;
- Advise the Minister on policy relating to TVET and prepare pans for national policies and economic needs; coordinate TVET at the tertiary level; to establish standards for TVET;
- Establish training priorities, tests, qualifications and accreditation;
- Carry out such other functions relating to technical and vocational education and training as the Minister may require.
Motivation: In fulfilment of the council´s mandate to coordinate TVET and to promote its growth.
Its mission is to develop a competent, certified and competitive workforce in Barbados and the region through the promotion and coordination of demand driven technical and vocational education and training. Its vision is to be the premier catalyst for workforce development in Barbados.
