The Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education is a public institution, founded in June 2010 by the Act on Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education.
The Agency deals with the professional development and training of VET teachers, through the organisation and implementation of professional exams, implementing procedures for their promotion, and the organisation and implementation of professional training.
The Agency developed and implements the quality assurance system in VET. The Agency is in charge of organizing and implementing skills competitions and under the name of WorldSkills Croatia represents the country in the WorldSkills Europe and WorldSkills International.
The Agency programs and implements international projects in VET and Adult Education, with a total value (2024) of more than 30 mil EUR.
The Agency's vision is an accessible and flexible system of vocational and adult education, based on competencies, directed at fulfilling the needs of each individual and society, the enabler of the economic development and greater employability. Its mission is to make education the strongest root of personal growth and success.
