UNEVOC Centre (National Body) since 2017

Korean Council for University College Education (KCCE) is an organization established by legislation to promote sound development of tertiary level technical and vocational education in Korea. As of 2016, it represents 137 member university colleges (1national, 7 public, 129 private, all university colleges in Korea) which account for over 440,000 students, a quarter of those enrolled at tertiary level education institutions, served by about 12,500 full time professors and 9,000 staffs.


Mission

A platform for university colleges and their people (students, faculties, and staffs)


Objectives

Promote autonomy and publicness of university college

Facilitate sound development of university colleges and their education

Promote collaboration between member university colleges

Advise the Government on university college policies


Regular tasks

Develop policies and/or plans regarding:

- evaluation of university colleges

- academic affairs of university colleges

- financial supports for university colleges

- the Government funding and tuition fees of university colleges

- student selection systems of university colleges

- development, deployment of curriculum and teaching method

- Provide education and training for professors and staffs of university colleges

- Collaborate with overseas VET institutions

- Conduct research on higher vocational education systems

- Execute businesses and projects entrusted by the Ministry of Education
