UNEVOC Centre (Training provider) since 1994
Soche Technical College is the oldest public Technical College in Malawi which opened its doors in 1956 as a result of a Bill passed in the Legislative Council for Government to start offering Technical Education in 1950. Since its inception, the college has continuously developed and evolved from a mere Artisan Training Centre in 1956 until it was finally elevated to the status of a Technical College in 1985. The college currently boasts of four departments namely Commercial, Construction, Automobile Engineering and Mechanical Engineering which offer the following courses: Accountancy, Information Technology, Secretarial & Management studies, Painting & Decorating, Plumbing, Electrical Installation, Wood machining, Automobile mechanics, Electrical and Electronics engineering, General Fitting, Welding and Fabrication, Refrigeration, Textile & Pattern design, and Upholstery.
