UNEVOC Centre (Training provider) since 2006
Established in 1993, Shenzhen Polytechnic (SZPT) is one of the earliest independent public higher TVET institutions in China. Since its establishment, SZPT constantly seeks for innovation in terms of education and teaching concepts, college-running mechanism, and talent education modes. With its pioneering spirit, SZPT has ranked first in various dimensions of higher TVET in China. SZPT acts as a pilot TVET college in a number of national reforms. In 1997, SZPT was identified as a pilot college for higher TVET by the former National Education Commission. In 2009, SZPT became one of the first batch of ‘national model higher TVET institutions in China’. SZPT has been awarded the first batch of ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship Model Colleges in China’, ‘China’s Top 10 Higher TVET Institutions with Best Employment’, and ‘Top 10 Innovative Higher TVET Institutions in China’. Besides, SZPT aims to become the first world top TVET institution with Chinese characteristics and share Shenzhen innovation solutions with the International TVET community.
Currently, there are five campuses of SZPT, with a total campus area of 2,123,000 m2, the total fixed assets of CNY2.319 billion. There are 17 schools with around 22,750 regular full-time students and more than 3,536 part-time higher TVET students. SZPT’s facilities are above national peer average conditions.
At present, there are 1,743 in-service faculty members in SZPT, including 1,225 full-time teachers, 217 professors, 649 associate professors, 408 doctors and 400 faculty members with international study/work experience. SZPT has provided nearly 110,000 full-time graduates for the labor market. The employment rate of graduates within six months after graduation exceeded 98 %. In last four years, the entrepreneurship rate of graduates within one year after graduation have reached 5%. The rate in three years after graduation reaches 12.7%.
SZPT has developed 10 national key programs and hosted 3 national teaching & learning resource databases. SZPT demonstrates great performance and strengths not only in Teaching & Learning, but also in Research & Development, Inclusive social engagement, and global engagement.It has established long-term and stable cooperative relationships with nearly 162 universities and TVET institutions in 32 countries.
Supply interdisciplinary, innovative, high-caliber, technical and skilled human resources, to serve students’ career development, Shenzhen local industries and enterprises, and Chinese economic and social development.
Pioneer in creating a world top TVET institution with Chinese features and share Shenzhen Innovation Solutions with international TVET community.
Provide full-time and part-time higher vocational education & skill training to young people, supply TVET leadership and teacher capacity training to domestic and international TVET leaders and teachers, conduct applied research, engage in social service to local people and engage in international TVET cooperation with international TVET community.
