UNEVOC Centre (National Body) since 1995

The National Office of Vocational Education and Training and Adult Learning (NOVETAL) is the background institution of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology. NOVETAL operates 44 VET Centres and more than 350 VET schools in Hungary.

The Office conducts, initiates, organizes and coordinates regional and nationwide research activities within national and international projects. Together with other stakeholders in VET it pursues the continuous development of the vocational structure.


Mission

Serving TVET and adult learning.


Objectives

  • Facilitate national networking in the field of TVET and adult learning involving wide range of stakeholders,
  • Provide support for students and teachers in obtaining up-to-date knowledge, skills and competences related to the field of TVET and AL,
  • Promote international cooperation of expertise with professional organisations and strengthen expert activity in the field of TVET and AL on European level,
  • Gather best practices and experiences for preparing legislation related to TVET and adult learning,
  • Share good practices and educational materials and resources concerning teaching young people and adults within the international community.

Regular tasks

NOVETAL operates 44 VET Centres and more than 350 VET schools in Hungary.

The Office conducts, initiates, organizes and coordinates regional and nationwide research activities within national and international projects. Together with other stakeholders in VET it pursues the continuous development of the vocational structure.

NOVETAL participates in drafting legislation for VET and adult learning and the National Qualification Register, prepares it for approval and publication, monitors its implementation and makes proposals concerning its amendment or updating process.

It also provides for the continuous development of the contents of VET:

  • prepares and makes corrections for publication and manages training and outcome requirements pertaining to qualifications;
  • has textbooks and teaching/learning aids pertaining to vocational qualifications and vocational subjects developed, prepares them for publication and manages them;
  • examines, analyses and evaluates the efficiency of vocational training organized in institutions engaged in VET, and participates in the introduction of quality improvement models and systems to be applied in the field of VET;
  • collects national and international VET methods, facilitates the development, adaptation, improvement and circulation of efficient procedures and methods.
Performs development, analysis and evaluation activities related to adult education within the school system, and collaborates with other stakeholders with respect to the methods and tools of formal, non -formal and informal learning.

The Office operates the National Reference Point and manages European education related projects:the Europass Certificate Supplements, EQAVET, Euroguidance and EPALE.
