Bangladesh Technical Education Board
(BTEB)

UNEVOC Centre (National Body) since 1995

Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) was established in 1954. BTEB as a statuary board namely “The East Pakistan Technical Education Board” was established through Act. No.-1 of 1967 by the then East Pakistan Assembly, to cope up with the extent of academic activities regarding Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Thus, the Bangladesh Technical Education Board came into existence with the jurisdiction over the entire area of Bangladesh to organize, supervise, regulate, control and develop technical and vocational education. The Board in its present form became operative with effect from June 1969. This act number 1 of 1967 was abolished and the new act namely “Bangladesh Technical Education Board act, 2018 has been executed since 14 November 2018. Accordingly, BTEB has been working under the supervision of Technical and Madrasah Education division of Ministry of Education. The Board is located at 8/c, sherebangla Nagar, Agargaon, Dhaka-1207.

Bangladesh Technical Education Board is a state regulatory board responsible for monitoring and developing technical and vocational education and training in the secondary levels throughout the Country. The board prepares the curriculum, develops learning materials, and grants affiliation to technical and vocational institutions governs admissions, conducts examinations, and awards certificates or diplomas and continuous Inspection, Supervision and Monitoring BTEB accredited TVET providing institute/ organization for quality assurance.

Produce in a main streaming path for quality skilled manpower.

Collect country level experiences.

Produce parallel current qualification framework and quality assurance.

Provide Quality education & Institute expansion

Ensuring Life long learning of TVET professional.

Provide RPL Certification.

To Meetup the SDG Goal specially Goal no -4 & 8

To Ensure objective of Greening TVET and IR 4.0



Regular tasks

  • To conduct, recognize and control the technical and vocational education and training within the scope of this act to prepare syllabus and curriculum for those courses & to prepare textbooks and learning materials.
  • To conduct examination of TVET and to asses skill, determine fees, publish result and award certificate.
  • To provide recognition of prior experience within the scope of this act.
  • To collect information related to demand of the TVET through the industry skill council & to prepare the curriculum for competency-based training and assessment courses with the assistance of the ISC
  • To determine the standard of qualification under the NTVQF
  • To enter into agreement with any organization for carrying out the purpose of this Act:
