The term 21st century skills refers to a broad set of knowledge, skills, work habits, and character traits that are believed - by educators, school reformers, college professors, employers, and others - to be critically important to success in today’s world, particularly in collegiate programs and contemporary careers and workplaces. Generally speaking, 21st century skills can be applied in all academic subject areas, and in all educational, career, and civic settings throughout a student’s life.

Refers to a broad set of knowledge, skills, work habits, and character traits believed to be critically important to success in today's world, particularly in contemporary careers and workplaces. It includes Learning and Innovation, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Information Management, Entrepreneurship, Life-Long Learning and Career Skills, Environment Literacy, Occupational Safety and Health, Communication, and Teamwork and Collaboration. 

21st century skills refer to the knowledge, life skills, career skills, habits, and traits that are critically important to student success in today’s world, particularly as students move on to college, the workforce, and adult life.

Twenty-first-century skills are abilities and attributes that can be taught or learned in order to enhance ways of thinking, learning, working and living in the world. The skills include creativity and innovation, critical thinking/problem solving/decision making, learning to learn/metacognition, communication, collaboration (teamwork), information literacy, ICT literacy, citizenship (local and global), life and career skills, and personal and social responsibility (including cultural awareness and competence).
