With 189 member countries, staff from more than 170 countries, and offices in over 130 locations, the World Bank Group is a unique global partnership: five institutions working for sustainable solutions that reduce poverty and build shared prosperity in developing countries.  The World Bank Group is the largest financier of education in the developing world, working in 90 countries and committed to helping them reach SDG4: access to inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all by 2030.

The WBG continues to foster global partnerships to improve skills development around the world. Some recent examples include:

• Inter-agency initiative with ILO and UNESCO to gather evidence on how to build better TVET systems.
• Engagement with WorldSkills International which works to raise the profile and recognition of skilled people, and show how important skills are in achieving economic growth and personal success.
• Partnership with UNESCO Institute of Statistics (UIS), UNICEF, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), and UNESCO's Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) to explore how learning can be measured through the lifecycle by integrating short modules into multi-topic household surveys.
• Solutions for Youth [[[employment]] (S4YE)] is a global program that brings together donors, governments, foundations, private sector companies, NGOs and youth to support catalytic programs to increase the number of young people engaged in productive work. S4YE acts as a strategic gateway to connect youth employment stakeholders with over 150 youth employment operations of the World Bank.
• Partnership for Economic Inclusion (PEI) is a global network that includes national governments, policymakers, development partners, and nongovernmental and research organizations. PEI is hosted by the World Bank’s Social Protection and Jobs Global Practice and seeks to formalize partnerships that will solidify an economic inclusion network that is global and far-reaching. Economic inclusion programs typically include skills training and coaching components in combination with cash or in-kind transfers, access to finance, and links to market support.
