On 15 February 2023, the UN Resident Coordination Office for UAE organized a webinar on “Green jobs and a just transition to sustainability”. The webinar was part of the 28-for-28 Event Series, a joint effort between the UN and UAE to host public webinars on crucial topics related to the Conference of the Parties (COP) process and climate action.

The discussion highlighted how green job creation is both instrumental to achieving sustainable development and economically beneficial, covering a just transition from a labour market perspective, and how the future of jobs aligns with net zero targets.

Speakers included representatives from the International Labor Organization (ILO), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and UNESCO-UNEVOC.
