Guandong delegation visits PINZ

In November, PINZ received a delegation from the Guangdong provincial government. The delegation was made up of representatives from the Department of Human Resources and Social Security who together are responsible for the management of the World Bank, Guangdong Social Security Integration and Rural Worker Training Project. The delegation had travelled to Australia to learn about social insurance mechanisms, and to New Zealand to meet with PINZ. This visit follows a very successful PINZ hosted visit two years ago from the project.

The discussion was predominantly focused on sharing insights on the TVET system in New Zealand. In particular they were very interested in the concept of life-long learning and the transferability of qualifications across institutions. Our models of indigenous and community education were also of interest, with the emphasis on working with communities and increasing community engagement in training and education.
