New UNEVOC Centres in Brazil and Kenya

The UNEVOC Network welcomes its two newest members, the National Council for the Federal Network of Vocational, Scientific and Technological Education Institutions (Conif) in Brazil, and the Rift Valley Technical Training Institute (RVTTI) in Kenya.

The inclusion of Conif and the RVTTI to the UNEVOC Network is significant, given the fact that both institutions play a key role in the development of TVET in their respective countries and regions. The Conif was created 2009 and assembles federal post-secondary TVET institutions across Brazil. It plays a key role in the development of the public TVET sector in Brazil, and promotes the development of policies, research and innovation. The Conif carries out its work through the strong coordination between the heads of the federal institutions, who meet regularly to discuss and share experiences from their institutions.

The RVTTI is an East Africa Community centre of excellence in TVET and is situated in Eldoret, Kenya. The institution welcomes students from across east Africa and its programmes focus on instilling students with quality technical, industrial and entrepreneurship training. It also collaborates and links with research institutions, industry and professional bodies both nationally and internationally to develop its training.

About the UNEVOC Network

The UNEVOC Network, coordinated by the UNESCO-UNEVOC, is made up of TVET institutions from around the World. The Network facilitates international cooperation, and is instrumental in the implementation of capacity building programmes, as well as the production and dissemination of research, case studies, databases and publications.
