Programme Expert on Loan (GIZ)
Pooja Gianchandani works as a Programme Expert at the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre, through Sector Project TVET GIZ, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Her role entails strengthening the ongoing cooperation between UNESCO-UNEVOC, BMZ, GIZ and other affiliated institutions / agencies. In her programme advisory role she is supporting the creation of a platform to strengthen engagement between the private sector and development community.
Pooja specializes in structuring industry-led, partnership driven, and technology enabled youth employability and school-to-work transition programmes. She has led several national and international projects in South Asia, Europe, UK, North Africa and North America. In her role as Director for Skills at FICCI (India’s largest chamber of commerce), she was deeply involved in the development of a unified national skills qualification framework, skills policy and sector skills councils.
Pooja holds a Masters in Social Work from the University of Delhi. She is a German Chancellors Fellow and Humboldtian. She is also an AIZ Certified Advisor on Cooperation Management with Capacity WORKS and Private Sector Development.
