The International UNESCO Conference on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for Successful and Just Transitions was held virtually from the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France on 7 and 8 December 2021.
The objective of the conference was to conduct a formal consultation on the new UNESCO Strategy for TVET 2022–29. It was the culmination of a series of consultations that were held between September and December 2021 with UNESCO Member States, TVET stakeholders, private sector partners and other international and regional organizations. The conference included a presentation and discussion of the demand for TVET in the light of the COVID-19 crisis and the major socioeconomic and sustainability challenges, the main line of actions of the new Strategy, together with a set of cross-cutting interventions. The virtual conference drew more than 1,200 participants, with a high of 880 participants during the high-level session.
