Equity

In education, the extent to which access and opportunities for children and adults are just and fair. This implies reduction of disparities based on gender, poverty, residence, ethnicity, language, and other characteristics.



Ensuring that there is a concern with fairness, such that the education of all learners is seen as being of equal importance.



(also called: Access and equity) A policy or set of strategies that ensure that vocational education and training is responsive to the needs of all members of the community.

Fairness in access to, and participation in, employment and training. Equity policies incorporates measures to improve employment and training outcomes for those population groups who are disadvantaged or have been under-represented in education and training.
