Process of designing, improving, organising and planning activities related to an education or training.

Curriculum development includes:

• analysis of education and training needs;
• definition of learning objectives and outcomes, topics, content of programmes and activities, materials and resources;
• definition of the duration and level of the action, type of learning (school-based or work-based), entry requirements;
• definition of methods and approaches (assessment of learners, validation of learning outcomes and evaluation of programmes);
• definition of standards (competence, educational, occupational, assessment, certification and validation standards);
• selection of providers, training of teachers and trainers.
