In education, the extent to which access and opportunities for children and adults are just and fair. This implies reduction of disparities based on gender, poverty, residence, ethnicity, language, and other characteristics.
(also called: Access and equity) A policy or set of strategies that ensure that vocational education and training is responsive to the needs of all members of the community.
Access resource, available in EnglishThis glossary is a compilation of Australian vocational education and training (VET) terms and acronyms. It includes both current and historical terms, concepts, acronyms and other abbreviations found in Australian VET research, policy and data.
Fairness in access to, and participation in, employment and training. Equity policies incorporates measures to improve employment and training outcomes for those population groups who are disadvantaged or have been under-represented in education and training.

Both terms and definitions, as well as cross-references to synonyms and related terms are commonly used by the International Labour Office (ILO) and several other intematlonal organizations involved in human resources development and training.
