Europass

European framework of tools, documents and services set up to support European citizens in learning or career development.

Comment

Europass provides, through an online platform available in 30 languages:

web-based tools to:

document and describe personal information in a variety of formats, including curriculum vitae (CV) templates;
document and describe skills and qualifications acquired through working and learning experiences, including through mobility and volunteering (Europass Mobility);
assess and self-assess skills; o document learning outcomes of qualifications (Certificate supplement and Diploma supplement);

information on:

learning and job opportunities;
qualifications and qualifications frameworks or systems;
validation of non-formal and informal learning;
recognition of qualifications and relevant legislation in different countries, including third countries;
guidance for transnational learning mobility and career management;
skills intelligence as produced by relevant Union-level activities;
skills and qualifications relevant to third country nationals arriving or residing in the Union to support their integration.

This multilingual glossary (provided in a multitude of European languages) defines a selection of key terms used in European education and training policy. It is a revised and expanded version of the “Terminology of European education and training policy – A selection of 130 key terms” (2014). It considers new priorities of European Union policy, mainly concerning skills intelligence and employment. New definitions have been developed in collaboration with the experts of Cedefop’s departments VET and Skills and VET and Qualifications.
