Labour market information systems (LMIS)

A labour market information system is a network of institutions, persons and information that have mutually recognized roles, agreements and functions with respect to the production, storage, dissemination and use of labour market related information and results in order to maximise the potential for relevant and applicable policy and programme formulation and implementation.

Any information concerning the size and composition of the labour market or any part of the labour market; the way it or any part of it functions, its problems, the opportunities which may be available to it, and the employment-related intentions or aspirations of those who are part of it.

Set of institutional arrangements, procedures, mechanisms and technology platforms designed to collect and analyse datasets and information flows on the state of the labour market, occupations and jobs, and identify the key changes occurring therein.
