This booklet deals with transversal skills in TVET and focuses on the way these skills are defined in policies across the Asia-Pacific region. It elaborates on the need for these skills and explores different definitions and concepts used in some countries of the region. It further highlights issues to be considered at policy level to ensure practical implementation of transversal skills in TVET.
This booklet is the result of UNESCO Bangkok’s project in cooperation with the Regional Cooperation Platform (RCP), and is based on thirteen country reports (Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Republic of Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand and VietNam).
The Asia-Pacific Education System Review Series has been developed aiming to summarize what is known, based on research, about selected contemporary policy issues relating to the national education systems of countries in the Asia and Pacific region.
