UNESCO Strategy for TVET (2022-2029): Transforming TVET for successful and just transitions

Discussion document
English | Français | Español

UNESCO, as the lead UN agency in education, science, culture, and communication and information, should drive the global TVET agenda. The new Strategy will seek to generate a global momentum for TVET, contributing to the post-COVID-19 social and economic recovery and to an acceleration of progress towards SDG 4. It will seek to instil a renewed ambition for TVET in Member States and build a common vision for transforming labour markets, economies, and societies.

At the global level, this implies applying “mission” principles and linking global and regional agendas to national policies and systems. At the country level, this entails providing policy support and guidance for Member States to adapt to the world-of-work transitions and mobilize public sector, private sector and civil society TVET stakeholders.
