UNESCO-UNEVOC participates in workshop on TVET for the Hospitality and Tourism Sector

20-21 November, Vienna, Austria

From 20 to 21 November 2012, Ms Naing Yee Mar, Programme Officer at UNESCO-UNEVOC participated in the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Workshop on Technical and Vocational Education and Training- “TVET for the Hospitality and Tourism Sector” in Vienna, Austria. The workshop was organized by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, the Arts and Culture, a UNEVOC Centre.

With the theme “TVET for the Hospitality and Tourism Sector”, the ASEM meeting brought together representatives from member countries and subject-matter experts to exchange views in the field of hospitality and tourism. Presentations focused on cooperation projects between Asia and Europe and international research projects in the area of hospitality and tourism education.

Ms Naing Yee Mar delivered a presentation on the work of UNESCO-UNEVOC in the Asia region and took part in the discussion on how international agencies can serve as a platform for cooperation between the two continents in general and in the area of tourism education in particular. The workshop provided a great opportunity for UNESCO-UNEVOC to deepen its understanding of skills development in the field of art and culture.
