Study visit by the Committee on Education and Skills Policy (CESP) of Afghanistan to Sri Lanka

According to the request by the UNESCO Kabul office in Afghanistan, TVEC has organized study visit and awareness workshop with the guidance and support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills Development.

The study visit which was held from 8/11/2012 to 14/11/2012 on “Education and Skills Policy (CESP) of Afghanistan to Sri Lanka" was organized by UNEVOC Center of TVEC and UNESCO Kabul Office in partnership with the TVET section at UNESCO Headquarters. This study visit was organized with the aim of improving equity, access and quality of TVET provision in Afghanistan through formal and non-formal education.

Delegation of the six members including H.E. the Deputy Minister TVET in Afghanistan, representative of UNESCO Kabul arrived on 8/11/2012 and was visited to Skill and Innovation Competition and Educational Exhibition which was held from 6th to 8th November at BMICH, Colombo. During the visit they participated in several workshops as well as training center visits.

This is the sixth country of the region that benchmarked the TVET developments of Sri Lanka including countries such as India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives.
