Shenzhen Polytechnic University hosts kick-off webinar for the UNEVOC Network Coaction Initiative 2023 (UNEVOC Centre - China)
Shenzhen Polytechnic University (SZPU) has launched a new UNEVOC Network Coaction Initiative on ‘Capacity Building for Digital Transformation in TVET’. The project runs until November 2023 and is designed to enrich the digital skills and mindsets of TVET staff from six UNEVOC Centres in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Second National TVET Forum (UNEVOC Centre – Mongolia)
The Second National TVET Forum was held in Mongolia under the theme of 'Transforming TVET'. Topics discussed included industry, sector challenges, youth employment, labour market demands, training quality, and skilled teachers. The Vocational Education, Training Partnership NGO (VETP) was one of the co-organizers of the event.

Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles is implementing an educational project linked to its community development activities in West Africa. Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute (SXPI), together with Te Whare Wananga o Awanuiārangi, New Zealand organized a virtual workshop focused on the importance of global citizenship education in TVET. The workshop was supported by the UNESCO Beijing Office, UNESCO-UNEVOC and Education New Zealand.

CICAN released a Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) national framework that will support lifelong learning, help streamline skills upgrading for Canadians and support workforce development across the country.

Shenzhen Polytechnic publishes guidebook on digital programmes in TVET (UNEVOC Centre – China)
Syllabuses of Digital Programmes in TVET was developed by the Office of Academic Affairs and the UNESCO Chair on Digitalization in TVET at Shenzhen Polytechnic, China. This comprehensive guidebook covers 28 digital programmes categorized into 6 programme clusters that have been successfully implemented at the institution.

Shenzhen Polytechnic established as UNESCO Chair on Digitalization in TVET (UNEVOC Centre in China)
Shenzhen Polytechnic (SZPT) has been formally established as the UNESCO Chair on Digitalization in TVET after signing the agreement with UNESCO headquarters in August 2022. The UNESCO Chair on Digitalization in TVET will initiate south-south cooperation, multi-partner cooperation and conduct six sub-programmes.

Three UNEVOC Centres develop guidelines for inclusive vocational excellence as part of the GIVE Project
The guidelines outline practices to make VET more inclusive, from didactics to management and governance. UNEVOC Centres from Italy, Malta and Finland (COMETA, MCAST and Omnia respectively) contributed to the development of the guidelines. Access them in English, Spanish and Italian.

Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education undertakes VET curricula reform (UNEVOC Centre in Croatia)
The project, co-financed by the European Social Fund, entered the final stage, introducing over 100 occupational standards, 145 qualification standards and 140 new curricula in VET, supporting teacher professional development and updating teaching materials.

Under the scope of the Global Skills Academy, KPMG, a member of UNESCO’s Global Education Coalition, has launched a new mentorship initiative with the National Skill Development Corporation International, a UNEVOC Centre in India, to support young graduates entering the labour market.

Temasek Polytechnic concludes its World Youth Skills Day (Asia Pacific) 2022 initiative
Themed “YOUth Matters: Celebrating Skills for the Future”, the inaugural WYSD (APAC) initiative ran from 7 July to 31 October 2022. The initiative was organized by Temasek Polytechnic, together with other UNEVOC Centres, local and regional partners, to amplify the voices of youth and better understand their perspectives when it comes to skills needed for the future. A new initiative by UNESCO’s Global Skills Academy (GSA) will provide more than 100,000 young people across Peru with access to training in key employability skills thanks to a collaboration between Fundación Telefónica, a partner of the GSA, and SENATI, a UNEVOC Centre.

TVET PITSO 2021
HRDC, Botswana organized TVET Pitso 2021 to provide a platform for stakeholders to dialogue on issues relevant to the transformation of TVET as a viable avenue for skills development and employment creation. Participants were exposed to new concepts in the area of digital technology and the 4IR as well as GIZ's new e-learning platform – Atingi. Access the full conference report.

The Vice-Ministry of Vocational Education and Training of the Department of Education of the Basque Government held an International Congress on “VET in the era of humanity, technology and intelligence”.
