All societies develop suitable institutional arrangements for the delivery of Education and Training for Work in order to reproduce a skilled labour force for their socio-economic development. This study analyses concepts, curriculum, delivery pattern, assessment etc. of three programme formats: functional literacy, workplace literacy and technical/vocational education, as well as interactions between them. The policy perspectives on education and training for the world of work are also presented by the author.
