This Convention on Technical and Vocational Education has been adopted by the General Conference of UNESCO at its 25th session in 1989. It provides a set of guidelines for technical and vocational education policy. Its articles cover the scope of the convention (Article 1), objectives and principles of technical and vocational education (Article 2), Contents and structures of technical and vocational education (Article 3), development and improvement of technical and vocational education (Article 4), personnel (Article 5), and international co-operation (Article 6). Articles 7- 15 refer to technical and legal questions.
The convention has been drawn up in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. The English, French and Spanish texts are available as separate documents.
