Ces dernières années ont vu la flexibilité, l’adaptabilité et l’apprentissage tout au long de la vie devenir des objectifs majeurs des bonnes pratiques, venant ainsi s’ajouter à l’employabilité. La notion de “bonnes pratiques” a été introduite en 1994 dans les institutions d’EFTP du Kenya, et elle conserve à ce jour son actualité grâce à la présence de personnels qualifiés qui soutiennent le programme. De nombreux diplômés de l’EFTP se mettent à leur compte et mettent en oeuvre dans leur entreprise les compétences entrepreneuriales qu’ils ont acquises dans les établissements de formation technique. Les institutions d’EFTP du Kenya répondent aux besoins de formation des entreprises en adaptant la formation aux exigences du marché du travail. Le Kenya possède un système bien rodé faisant intervenir les entreprises dans la fixation des contenus de formation, ce qui permet de former plus efficacement les jeunes en vue du poste de travail.
