The Symposium held from 23-26 September 1998 on the Island of Crete, Greece, served as the European platform to prepare for the 2nd International Congress on Technical and Vocational Education in April 1999 in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Five Thematic Units provided the framework for presentations and discussions: (A) Vocational Education and Training and New Technologies; (B) Environmental Education and Training; (C) The Changing Role of the Public and Private Sectors in Vocational Education and Training; (D) Internationalisation of Economic Activities and Tourism; (E) Non-commercial Exchanges and Vocational Training.
