  • Understanding Open Educational Resources
This is a short course on Open Educational Resources (OER). It will take about 2 hours to complete. We recommend this course to initiate anyone to the world of OER. It provides several links to other resources that learners can pursue for in-depth knowledge of the field.

Basic IT Skills

This course is intended to equip Open School teachers with introductory computer skills so they will be able to engage in online learning. Open School teachers will be introduced to the basics of using a Windows®-based computer operating system, Microsoft Office® software, Internet and Web access, and document sharing. The course consists of 4 units. The first three units are to be completed in a facilitated classroom/workshop setting. The final unit is intended to be completed over several weeks by each learner working online from their own computer.

Facilitating using PowerPoint

The course familiarises participants with the use of the technical features of MS PowerPoint to create slides and a slide show to be used in faciltation of a lesson with learners.

Developing & Teaching Online Courses

A course to teach instructors in different educational contexts how to develop online and blended courses and how to teach in an online environment.
