UNEVOC attends Regional Meeting in Harare and Mutare, Zimbabwe

From 14 to 16 October, 60 participants from eight countries representing ministries, youth organizations, NGOs and other UN agencies met in Harare and Mutare in Zimbabwe for a Regional TVET Meeting. Organized by UNESCO’s Regional Office for Southern Africa, the meeting discussed the challenges countries are facing to ensure equitable opportunities to access formal and non-formal TVET, as well as lifelong learning opportunities. The meeting facilitated the sharing of experiences on TVET policies and governance, innovative practices, developing indicators and monitoring information systems, and revisiting the Regional Framework for Action in the context of UNESCO’s new TVET strategy and the Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP).

Kamal Armanious, Programme Assistant for the UNEVOC Network, presented information about UNESCO-UNEVOC’s activities, including the UNEVOC Network and the online services and products, with particular emphasis on the promising practices database and the e-forum.

Seven UNEVOC Centres from the southern African region attended the meeting:
