The H2Skills project develops a methodology on how to identify and fill local skills gaps in the field of hydrogen economy. The project is data-driven, and it first seeks to identify current market needs in the sector by gathering data through expert interviews and an online survey. Based on the analysis, targeted curriculum is developed that taps into the needs expressed by the local industries. H2Skills offers a line of sector-specific courses, certifications and training modules, which are suitable for adaption and uptake by other TVET institutions.
The project was launched in 2021 and is run in Northern Germany by the Lüneburg-Wolfsburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IWK) and the Braunschweig-Lüneburg-Stade Chamber of Crafts (HWK) with funding from the European Social Fund.
H2Skills was selected as an Innovation and Learning Practice within the framework of UNESCO-UNEVOC's BILT project, and it was presented in the BILT Learning Lab held on 12 October 2022.
