Tackling TVET challenges: New Qualifications and Competencies | Greening | Digitalization | Entrepreneurship | Migration
Mr. Tristan Cole serves as a Project Officer at the UNESCO-International Centre, where he is part of the ‘Innovation and Future of TVET’ team, managing the Bridging Innovation and Learning in TVET (BILT) initiative. BILT aims to reengage the European UNEVOC Network members by supporting their efforts to address key work streams in global education: Green and sustainable TVET professions; Entrepreneurship in TVET; Industry 4.0 and digital economies; and, Migration and integration in TVET. Additionally, the BILT project addresses a fifth work stream, ‘New Qualifications and Competencies for Relevant TVET Careers’. This seeks to identify qualifications and competencies for future TVET careers in two main areas: developing new occupational profiles, and introducing these into curriculum for implementation.
Prior to joining UNESCO-UNEVOC, Tristan worked in the Canadian tertiary education system for nine years, serving in a leadership role and participating in collaborative capacity building projects in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and North and South America. Tristan has an undergraduate degree in History and Politics, and a post-graduate degree in International Relations, both from the United Kingdom.
