UNEVOC Centre (National Body) since 1999
Vocational Education Development Institute has been upgraded from Vocational Education Development Centre since 2013. Its role is to act similar the university faculty of technical education and TVET research institute under ministry of education and sports in 2018.
- Pre- and in-service training of vocational teachers/ instructors
- Development of curriculum for TVET institutions
- Development of instructional materials and media for TVET institutions
- Conducting the TVET researches on behalf of MOES
- to provide equitable access into pre- and in-service vocational teacher education, and the capacity building for TVET administrators,
- to enhance the teacher/ instructor training quality and relevance,
- to provide service on the researches and the development e.g. TVET information, occupational standard, curriculum, and instructional material and media for TVET institutions of both public and private sectors,
Tasks include:
- Develop curriculum, textbooks and media for Technical and Vocational Schools and Training centers in both public and private sectors,
- Provide pre-service training of vocational teacher in continuing Higher Diploma (two year study) and continuing Bachelor program (2.5 year study),
- Conduct in-service training for vocational teachers and TVET personals in pedagogy and in professional field e.g. competency standard development, curriculum design, instructional material and media development,
- Provide the training for TVET administrators in TVET institutional management,
- Provide consulting service in Competency-based Training (CBT) and Dual Cooperative Training (DCT),
- Conduct Research on TVET on behalf of ministry of education and sports.
