UNEVOC Centre (Uni/Research) since 1998
Academic Information Centre (AIC) is a non-profit institution, foundation established in 1994 by the Ministry of Education and Science and University of Latvia, Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science.
The aim of AIC stated in the statutes is to ensure free movement of individuals in the field of education and employment.
The main objectives of AIC are to provide information and provide the participation of Latvia in European Council, European Union, UNESCO education networks; to implement tasks stated in Latvian legislation to provide free movement of persons in the field of education and employment; to provide support for higher education quality assurance by organising accreditation (quality assessment) of higher education institutions and study directions, and licencing of study programmes.
Regular Tasks: The functions and work tasks of AIC are determined by the agreement with the Ministry of Education and Science. AIC implements the following functions:
