(also called Subject) A unit of education or training which can be completed on its own or as part of a course and which is considered as component parts that make up a Competency Development Framework CDF for a given discipline or profession. Competency Module is an aggregation of the awareness, knowledge, skills and attitudes of the tasks which reflect what a competent person in a particular role should be able to perform. Competency Modules may also result in the attainment of one or more units of competency. The Competency Modules should include guidance for assessors pertinent to the related standards. A Competency Module should describe: 1.distinct work activity 2.work outputs expected, not what is put into the work 3.outputs that can be demonstrated and assessed at work 4.precise criteria 5.scope of the standard 6.guidelines for assessors on how to assess against the standard The four Competency Modules making up a Competency Development Framework CDF are core competence, support competence, general competence and personal / behavioral (or attitude) competencies.
