The UNESCO Regional Office - Beirut and UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre developed an initiative called "Promoting Regional Co-operation in Technical and Vocational Education and Training in the Arab States" to stimulate regional co-operation for the reform of TVET in the Arab States. The initiative was launched at an expert meeting held in Beirut from 11 to 13 December 2002. The project proposals resulting from this meeting include capacity building, curriculum development and TVET programmes, TVET qualifications, professional development of TVET personnel, women and TVET, and employment of graduates
