Director of UNEVOC Centre Tunisia visits UNESCO-UNEVOC
Professor Jilani Lamloumi, Director of the Ecole Supérieure des Sciences et Techniques de Tunis (ESSTT), a UNEVOC Centre, visited UNESCO-UNEVOC on 18 July 2007, whilst in Germany to discuss cooperative arrangements with selected European universities. The ESSTT provides postgraduate training for those wishing to become teachers in technical schools and institutes. Ensuring that TVET teachers not only have pedagogical skills but are also able to offer expert knowledge and leadership in their field is very important, and the ESSTT is among a small group of UNEVOC Centres that specifically focus on this. As an active member of the UNEVOC Network, the ESSTT often contributes resources and experts to regional TVET conferences and experts meetings. During his visit of UNESCO-UNEVOC, Professor Lamloumi gave a presentation on TVET issues in Tunisia. He also held discussions with Efison Munjanganja, Head of UNEVOC Networks, regarding future UNEVOC Network activities.
