This study aims to evaluate the preparedness of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Institutions for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) in Brunei. The present study utilises a mixed-methods research design, which combines quantitative and qualitative methodologies. The data findings obtained from the survey are enhanced by employing a qualitative method to provide comprehensive insights on the preparedness of TVET institutions and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Brunei for IR 4.0.
Questionnaires were disseminated to TVET institutions in Brunei and 6 TVET institutions participated in this study. Meanwhile, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was held with representatives from TVET institutions, HEIs and industry, in which participants were recruited using purposive selection procedures. The attendees consisted of 12 representatives from TVET institutions and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Brunei. As for the FGD with industry, 12 representatives from various industries took part in the deliberation.
