Skills for a connected world

Report of the UNESCO Mobile Learning Week 2018, 26-30 March 2018

All over the world, the way we educate and are educated is changing. New technologies, platforms and ways of reading the world are transforming the philosophies underpinning education pedagogies and modes of delivery. New voices, hitherto unheard, are joining the debate, asking key questions and, more importantly, putting forward solutions to address emerging issues and challenges. This is the modern debate faced by educators, practitioners and policy-makers with responsibility for education at local, national and international levels within the context of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) and the Education 2030 Agenda and Framework for Action.

During Mobile Learning Week 2018, participants engaged in a variety of workshops, symposium sessions, a policy forum and strategy labs around the theme ‘Skills for a connected world’ organized in four tracks: 1) defining and mainstreaming digital skills; 2) innovating skills provision for jobs in the digital economy; 3) closing inequalities and gender divides; and 4) mapping and anticipating changing skill needs.

The following report gives an overview of the Mobile Learning Week 2018.
