As part of the YEM Project, UNESCO is working with government agencies, private sector partners and civil society to strengthen national dialogue on future skills needs, and identify employment growth drivers. In this regard, and based on prior activities under the YEM project in Palestine, the tourism sector has been selected to be studied in terms of skills needed for its various jobs as the tourism sector has been the worst affected of all major economic sectors by the COVID-19 outbreak.

  • Share knowledge regarding the context of the Hospitality & Tourism sector, including in terms of occupations, jobs and skills needed and undergoing initiatives.
  • Provide a overview of the expected situation and skill gaps after COVID – 19.
  • Expose Youth to this sector in terms of employment and skills needed.
  • Explore what UNESCO YEM project and other projects could propose in this field.
